Valorant has removed Split from the map pool due to a series of game-breaking bugs that were discovered granting players unintended advantages. While bugs are not uncommon with new map releases, the severity of these issues forced Riot’s hand.
Split has been on and off in the competitive map pool since launch so it’s no surprise the map is controversial due to its one sided nature heavily favoring defenders. However, the removal was not solely due to bugs. In a blog post developer Joe Lansford explained that the decision to remove Split was based on various factors such as player sentiment, time since release, planned updates, and strategic variance.
When Will Split Return To Valorant?
Split is not expecting to make its return until patch 8.08 on April 30. While Split is gone from competitive, unrated, swift play, premier, and spike rush, it’s still playable in deathmatch and custom games.
Are there any new valorant map changes?
No, unfortunately, the map pool will stay the same for Episode 8 Act 3 confirmed by Riot Games.

Lotus
Why No Changes?
Riot Games has not provided any reasons to keep the existing map pool. Valorant is known to try to keep its consistency with the quality of gameplay, but they may have something big up their sleeves for the next episode which may surprise us.
Valorant removed Split from it’s map poll to work on bugs according to their Twitter Post.
As of Episode 8 Act 3 no maps were announced to come back in rotation. The maps that are out of rotation are Haven, Pearl, and Fracture
Yes, Haven was removed at the start of Episode 8, most likely being reworked by the developers.
Fracture was removed from Valorant’s competitive queue early 2023. Fracture was a mix among players where either you love the map or you hated it. Most considered it mainly attacker sided because of the rope that granted access to all sides at anytime making it difficult to predict which site was being attacked.
No, Breeze is still in the map pool as of the up coming patch 8.08, the only change you’ll find is the hallway is no longer blocked, all the changes still remain the same.
